PowerPoint 2007 Hyperlink Problems - Internal links go to incorrect sides at random

Asked by freejaso in Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation Software, VB Script

I have several PP2007 presentations with several hyperlinks.  Every once in awhile when you click a hyperlink it routes to the incorrect slide. This doesn't occur on every presentation or on specific links (it's random as far as I can tell) and it is not something that we are able to replicate consistently.  If I go forward and back several times clicking on the hyperlink eventually I will get it to screw up.

I have gone through many of the suggestions, including:
1) http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00683.htm
2) http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00401.htm - I downloaded fixlinks from PPtools and ran the tool to find how much space things were taking up... Only 1,923 bytes.  Seems I should only be having problems when more space is being used.
3) Tried saving as PP2003 and then back to PP2007.
4) Tried to save as HTML
5) Tried to save as PowerPoint Show only.
6) http://billdilworth.mvps.org/UnlimitedLinks.htm - Interesting but my client is going going to like VBA embedded.

Other notes:  All the hyperlinks are internal.  None go to outside websites.

Any great ideas out there.  I don't really want to break up the presentation into several multiple linked presentations as I have 120 of these and it would take too much time.Start Free Trial
