Need help opening a .ppt file

Asked by Geisrud in Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation Software

One of my users was working on a Power Point file (PPT 97) yesterday and now it refuses to open.  I've tried PPT 97, PPT XP and, PPT Viewer 2007 and all refuse to open it - I get an error as indicated by the attached jpg.

I can only assume that it's corrupted somehow...can anyone help recover it?  From what I'm told, the user saved it when he was done, but "had trouble shutting down his computer" after that.

The file is fairly large at 30+MB, so I'm hosting it myself.  Interested parties can find it at http://www.jrlogic.com/file.ppt for the duration of this question.  A lot of work went into creating this, so I'm hoping it can be recovered.

Much thanks.Start Free Trial
