Where do I get that XML from and how do I get it to travel with my PPT? An agency did create it for us, but they didn't do the right colors and I need to edit them.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWe have a PPT template that has 2 color schemes embedded in it. We want to know how to edit these schemes and add more colors to it. The office schemes will not work because we need to change the first color in all of them and want to create our own.
The PPT can be found here: http://www.miswaco.com/ppt

Page 6 (4a) of this file explains how to unzip the THMX. http://www.echosvoice.com/
You need to turn on file extensions and various stuff as epxlained in pages 1-5.
Since you don't have the THMX, substitute the POTX or PPTX or PPSX file you have instead. So instead of Currency.THMX.ZIP as mentioned in the instructions, you'll have Presentation1.POTX or whatever your template or PPTX file is named.
Unzip the POTX file and then it's the same -- you're looking for file path\Presentation1.potx\pp
All templates are based on themes. You can just save the theme, then apply that to an Excel template. If you already have an Excel template, then yes, you can edit the XML.

If you'll read that eli journals article I posted the link to, I think it will explain. You create the theme (THMX) in PowerPoint because it has the interface. Then you open Excel and apply the THMX and then you save the Excel template. Then you would have to edit Excel's XML the way you did for the PPT template.
I think this has become a separate question now.

Click the Colors dropdown on the Design tab and choose Create New Theme Colors. Alter the colors as desired, name the colors, then exit out of the dialog.
2007/addco lorstothem e.htm for more info. Now, if your template/theme was provided by an agency, they may have included the 2nd color scheme by editing the XML. You can also edit the XML by hand to change the colors in the color schemes.
If you need to edit a custom color scheme, click Colors dropdown and right-click and choose Edit. (You can't edit the built-in color schemes.)
How were the two color schemes added to your template? I'm asking because, if you created the template, the 2nd color scheme may show up on your computer but not on anyone else's. See http://www.echosvoice.com/
