Browse All TopicsI have a slideshow which is 95 slides.
In the background is an mp3 playing which is 12.5 minutes long.
This works out to be approx 8 sconds per slide.
I have set auto transmission to 8 seconds, the sound to auto play on slide 1 and finish after 95 slides.
All seems fine, the problem is that when I launch the slideshow it stays on slide 1 and never moves onto slide 2.
The only way I can get it to work is if I check the box to use rehearsed timings (whatever they are). The problem with this is that the slides take longer than 12.5 minutes to go through so what ever this rehearsed timing is, it's out.
Why won't it just go through the slides with 8 second transmissions?

yes it does but the timing is out. The timing (if same as the rehearsal thing) was when I was clicking and learning before I'd worked out how long each slide should show. I need to clear this and *simply* say each slide sits for 8 seconds then transitions automatically.
I'm guessing I could "rehearse" and do all 95 slides manually after 8 seconds and then use this rehearsal... but should I have to?
What happens if you delete the sound file? Do the slides transition?
Some things to check:
Delete the Sound Icon from your first slide.
Click the Animations Tab and make sure the box to "Advance Slide Automatically After:" is checked and the timing is set to 00:08
Make sure Trransition Sound is set to [No Sound]
Click Apply to All
Run the slideshow and see if the slides transition properly.
If not, try HTML Round Tripping the presentation to remove corruption:

If the slides do transition properly, you can now add back your sound file following these instructions:

Scroll down to the part about: "And if you use PowerPoint 20002/XP or PowerPoint 2003"
The directions are the same for 2007 and make sure you set 999 for the Stop Playing After XXX slides value.
Hope this helps.
