The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Project server 2003 problem establishing a connection with Windows SharePoint Services

Specs: Windows server 2003 SP1 with Project server 2003 SP2a, Share Point 2.0 SP2, SQL 2000 SP3
Installed Project server using the Project 2003 Bible installation instructions.

On the home page I get these messages:

Welcome to Project Web Access, consultant
 Updates  
 You have no changes to update into Project.
 Tasks  
 You have no new tasks assigned to you.  
 Risks  
 There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator.
 Issues  
 There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator.
 
 Steps I have done to try and resolve the issue:
1. Ran proxycfg -d -p "YourProxyServer" ";ServerName;IPAddress; FQDN" and
 proxycfg -d -p noproxy "<local>,yourservername"

2. Manually tried to create the Risks and Issues sites via  PWA go to Admin, then Manage Windows SharePoint Services, then click on Manage SharePoint Sites.  From there you'll find the
project that you just created, click on that specific project and then click
on Create Site.
Received VBScript error - Error occurred when creating site. Site does not seem to exist.

3. Ran C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Project Server 2003\BIN\1033\PSCOMPLUS.EXE delete All COM+ apps enter identity anbd password for analisys services enter identity and password for WSS and click to Create/Update COM+ Apps.
No errors but did not fix issue.

4. Checked settings on the Connect to a Share Point Server page in Project svr. I can open the SP central admin page via the link on that page as well as the public docs page that was created during the Project svr install.
If I try to change the settings on this pasge when I click save I get an error telling me to use the proxycfg to fix proxy issues. I attached a bmp file with the exact error.


Ran out of ideas and need some expert help..................
