Hi. I have a query regarding how to set up project server team assignments. As far as I understand it, team assignments allow team members to "self-assign" work. All well and good. What I'd like to do, however, is to allow a team manager to assign incoming work to resources within their teams.
I have seen something which suggests this can be achieved by setting up the team resource so the Timesheet Manager and Default Assignment Owner is the team's manager (

That issue notwithstanding, if I don't then set the team up as a Generic resource, the team task assigmnents show up in the team manager's my work page in PWA, but when the team manager goes to reassign the task, the only available resources in the drop-down are those resources already assigned to the project.?
Now I would love to assume my resource pool would self assign work, but I don't think it's going to happen that way so I thought team assignments were quite useful. But, surely if I need to use "build team" to put the right resource in the local project team, I might as well do that, what's the point of team assignments?
So there's three questions, really:
1) Do Team Assignment Resources need to be generic resources?
2) How can I get all team resources to appear in the drop-down box when re-assigning tasks, not just the resources which are in that task's project's team?
3) Why use Team Assignment resources against Generic Resources? Is there a compelling reason?
Any expert help or insight into this issue would be very much appreciated.
