Word 97: This programe has performed an illegal operation........

I received the above error message every time I tried to open Word 97 (Win 98). The detail also said; Winword caused an invalid page in Module WINWORD.EXE. at 015 f1 3002612 ....... and so on.

Plwase help.

it sounds like a bad installation of WORD. try re-installing it.

To track down the problem, work through http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q168/1/98.asp
this is the troubleshooting guide for IPF's in Word 97.
