The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

gantt charts in Excel

Asked by esu4236 in Microsoft Office Suite

I have a question about a gantt chart I downloaded from the Internet that a John Lacher put together.  Does anybody know if there's any way to change the chart so that it's only showing "Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May . . ." across the X axis versus "8 am, 9 am, 10 am, . . .".  I have figured out how to put in certain days of the month like "1/1, 1/31, 3/31, 4/31,. . ." but I can't figure out how to put just the months themselves.  When I go to format the x axis, I'm putting in the following data:

Minimum:  36526 (which is January 1
          formatted as a general number)
Maximum:  36861 (which is December 1
          formatted as a general number)
Major Unit:  ????

The Major Unit is where I'm stumped and don't know what to put in here to have the system only put in the months.

Also, where exactly in the VB code can I tell it to format the x axis as 8 point versus the 12 point default?  I've tried putting in this line of code about everywhere imaginable but it won't work.  (I'm not a VB person).

Thanks for your help.  I appreciate it.Start Free Trial
