Don't mess with the registry, that is asking for trouble. Go into tools, options, and there is a place there to enter the users name.

One of my users just got a divorce (VERY bitter) and doesn't want to see this name on her office splash screen....yes, I know...it is for a second. It was a bitter divorce.
Anyways - can anyone tell me all the registry keys I need to go to change this name. If you reinstall office, it still retains the user name that was originally put in. Thanks!

The registry is not that tricky nmattern, but its a good point to warn the end user, thank you...
tituba, i would wholeheartedly suggest that you BACK UP your registry before you change registry entries in genreal, this one is quite safe and would not cause damage to your system regardless of what you did to this key, within reason, but as a general rule, its just a good idea, plus then if something beyond your control happens, then you at least have a backup for help...
