The Solution Rating System

  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Word help desperately needed

Hi
One of my users is having a very odd problem with Word 2000 and I can't get to the bottom of it.
Basically what it is is any formatting she applies seems to have a mind of its own. For example if you click on a line to put a bullet in the entire document becomes bulleted, this includes graphics and headers and footers. Also the Normal style has set itself as a left indent with a -5 Hanging, and 0.5 flush left. When we add bullets all text formatted as Normal becomes like this (even Normal text that was previously behaving itself), and obviously is unreadable as it hangs off the edge of the page.
The same things happen when she emails a document to anyone, as I can get it to reproduce the happenings on my machine.
We have tried reinstalling Word numerous times but norhing seems to fix it, anyone got any ideas on where to start looking for what is causing this?
