Excel VBA? or vlookup question

I have a spreadsheet that uses this as a macro

Cells(2,2).Activate 'one of the cells
Activecell.Subtotal GroupBy:=1, Function:=xlSum, TotalList:=Array(2), _
Replace:=True, PageBreaks:=False, SummaryBelowData:=False

and it groups all like store names and then creates a sub total for that group, the sub total column and amount column look like this...
Home Depot Total 52.75
Lowe's Total     75.00

On a different spread sheet i want a macro that can grab all the lines that have total at the end and copy them and the amounts column onto this new page, i tried a vlookup looking for  *Total but it just kept returning the first record.

The wildcard approach is the way to go, but vlookup will only return one record. I think you'd need some vba here and suggest you use the 'find' method (which should return all cells that match) and then select the corresponding entire rows. It's hard to be more specific without knowing a bit more about what the first sheet looks like and what you want the second to look like.

The first sheet has 2 columns of data i am interested in.
and looks like this....

Distributor      Amount
Home Depot       50.00
Home Depot       25.00
Home Depot Total 75.00
Lowe's           25.00
Lowe's           25.00
Lowe's           25.00
Lowe's Total     75.00

The 2nd sheet i just want to look like this....
Home Depot Total   75.00
Lowe's Total       75.00

There are more than just these two company there will be other ones so i need to grab every thing from the first sheet that has total at then end. If you could show me more about the find method i would be grateful.

Now that I see how your data is set out, there is a MUCH easier and more flexible way to achieve what you want, which is to use a pivot table. In case you haven't done it before, here's how to do it:

Click anywhere in your table. From Data|subtotals, remove subtotals from teh list (you can always put them back again after, but this makes the pivot table much neater.)

Now, from teh Data menu, find the pivot table and pivot chart wizard. Leave the default settings, which should be 'MS Excel list or database' and 'pivot table'. Hot 'next' and it should select all your relevant data. Hit 'next' again. Ask for a pivot table in a new worksheet when prompted, and you'll be presented with a blank table arrangement and a list of fields in a separate window.

Drag 'distributor' over to the 'drop row fields here' section, and drag 'amount' over to the 'drop data field here' section.

Voila.
