The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. How to automate reports using Excel VBA

Every morning I need to send a report to my boss regarding the status of the in-house files that we're working on. Our working files (*.TXT format) are saved in \client\data and each file is set up to include a unique batch ID number (value in <BATCH> tag). I need to count the number of <BATCH> sections within these text files and report these information to the "in-house" excel workbook that I'm maintaining. I need the information to appear every row 3 on the column that corresponds to today's date.

My in-house excel sheet should display all the information that we've processed DAILY for the whole month (e.g. April 1 - 30). April 1 is in Column A, April 2 is in Column B, April 3 is in Column C, and so on. Such that if I need to update the April 1 status (assuming it is April 1 today), it counts all instances of <BATCH> in the *.TXT files (located at \client\data) and displays the results to Column A row 3. For April 2, at column B row 3, For April 3, at column C row 3. If it cannot find the date, it does nothing.

I also would want to know how many files have already been processed for the day. These can be generated using the same process but instead of looking at *.TXT files located at \client\data, it looks at \client\trans folder. Results should be pasted at every row 6 and at a column that corresponds to today's date.

Lastly, I want to save this report based on today's date.
