of course if you're on excel 2K and higher you can use the vb function replace but i use above function to stay clear of version issues

Excel - Replace Newline character from a cell
How do I programatically replace the newline character from a excel cell?
i.e. I need to do the same from a excel macro.
example cell 1,1 has a value like
"The start date of the exams are
01/01/2003 and end date 09/01/203"
I need the lines between the cell values to be merged
