I found the string you are referring to, but I have yet to find the 25 character alpha numeric value that was on the sleeve.

Could someone tell me where in the registry I could go to find this?

Hi there
I've been in the same position as you before and have had very little success actually getting the 25 digit key out, it seems to be a key that is just used for installation purposes and then isn't stored in your computer anymore.
One thing you could try is downloading Aida32
http://www.aida32.hu/aida3
If you are using a version where you can get the key out of it, aida will pick it up.
HTH
RascalBird
You've probably solved your problem, but here's a tool that works on everything but Office 2000.

You can search the registry for ProductID. Depend on your version of office it will be in something like HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Of fice\10.0\ Registrati on\{long string here}\ProductID.
