The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

help in creating a macro in excel

Asked by juwon17 in Microsoft Office Suite

Hi, in my spreadsheet I have columns A1:A10 that contain the prices for 10 stocks in SHEET 1.  But the content of each cell in A1:A10 (SHEET 1) is a formula that links these cells to A1:A10 in another worksheet (i.e. sheet 2).  The stock price data in A1:A10 IN SHEET 2 comes in through a web query from my portfolio in yahoo finance.  So every day the stock price data in SHEET 2 is changing, and thus the stock prices in SHEET 1 change (since they are linked by a formula).  My problem:  For the first day of every month, I want to be able to save the stock prices in A1:A10 of SHEET 1 in a separate column...in other words, I want to copy and paste the NUMBER VALUES (NOT THE FORMULAS) in A1:A10 (in SHEET 1) to columns B1:B10 (in SHEET 1).  However, I want to automate this process so that when a "current date" cell in sheet 1 reads as the first of the month (using something like =DAY()), the macro will automatically perform and copy/paste the NUMBER VALUES in cells A1:A10 over to B1:B10.  Any help is much appreciated.  Here is a macro that my friend put together for me that accomplished this WITHOUT the automated part.  I want it automated though to occur on the first of every month.  Thanks a lot to anyone who can help.

the current macro:

Sub Beginning_of_Month_Price()
