Hi experts,
I am currently creating a new template (.pot) and am having difficulty with a custom background.
I have my own (colour) picture to use, yet Powerpoint insists on tinting it.
How do I persuade it to simply use the background without doing anything to it?
I realise I could add it to the master as a standard object, at the back, but this wouldn't be a true background and will probably be treated differently when it comes to printing etc.
Any ideas?

well I've been through all those options - there is no 'none' so whatever I set replaces any previous background.
so if i then set the background it will use the picture, but colourized with the color-sceme's background colour.
I can set a BG picture no problems in a new file - so i guess it's a problem with this file.
Will try making the template again from scratch, then report my progress.
About your background picture...what is the resolution? Try setting it to web resolution (72 dpi) and shrink it to fit as close as possible to the size of the slide before inserting it. I've found that really high res images freak out and almost appear to be negative-ish looking on a monitor when I pop them into PowerPoint.

Hmm.. it is........ did you delete the old picture before importing ,because if u make a new slide then guess what the old purple version will show up again. Here is what i have for you.I hope Yahoo briefcase wants to cooperate today,if not i can e-mail to you.

Jazzle; Is it a custom background or custom Slide design? If it is a custom background then right click on the powerpoint background click the down arrow (beside the color) and click fill effects, see if anything is out of order, example Gradient, texture, pattern, or picture tabs may need to be adjusted. If it is a custom Slide design again right click on the picture enter format picture see if any of the tabs can help you there.
