I purchased a new laptop and used "PC Relocator" to copy all of my apps and files from the old laptop to the new. The new laptop came shipped with a "Trial Version" of MS Office.
I have discoved that several objects that would normally be installed with MS OFFICE 2003 STD are missing. I want to uninstall and reinstall MS OFFICE 2003 STD.
Note that I have a MS OFFICE 2003 STD (Full Version) CD with original license keys.
When ever I attempt to uninstall/reinstall/Repair
I receive the following message:
"The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "511735.MAINSP1OP.msp" in the box below."
It points to the following source pate: C:\Program Files\OfficeUpdate11\Cabs\
511735...
Note: I've never installed MS OFFICE from anything other than the original CD that I have.
Also note that there is no such path or installation package on my old laptop.
I'm thinking that I need to change some registry setting that will perment uninstall/repair. I've removed the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installe
r\Patches\
886B7FB759
A43004AB89
AEA897ADA0
AB
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installe
r\Patches\

AEA897ADA0
AB\SourceL
ist\LastUs
edSource (n;1;C:\Program Files\OfficeUpdate11\Cabs\

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installe

A43004AB89
AEA897ADA0
AB\SourceL
ist\Net \1 (C:\Program Files\OfficeUpdate11\Cabs\
511735\)
Removing these keys, resulted in a message that said "Missing Installation Source".
I Changed these keys to point to an existing CAB (different ID) which resulted in the message "Incorrect Source Type"
I'm completely stuck, can't uninstall/repair/reinstall
etc. etc.
What should I change?
