In Outlook 2003 we have activities associated with many contacts in a shared mailbox. We need to have multiple users access them and to view and make updates. However, by selecting the Activities tab on this shared mailbox contact from a user mailbox, I get the following message:
"No folders are defined for the Activities tab of contacts in this contacts folder. Right click on the contact folder, and then click Properties. On the Activities tab, set the folders that should be searched for items associated with this contact."
There is not an activities tab in the properties window of someone else's Contacts folder, regardless of the viewer's permissions for that folder.
How can I get others to view the activities of this shared mailbox contacts?

thanks for your response. I found out the problem. First off, it's not supported by MS. To get it working, you simply create an activity group in the owner's contact folder - ie: "Test" and to have it search the contact folder. after doing this, it allows others to view the activities of the shared contacts.
Right, there are never any activities setup by default. The owner must create them to be availiable.
FYI - It's only the activites for shared folders when used by other users that are not supported. They act and work just like a single user, but with many more bugs.
I also seem to remember seeing a "pay-for" COM addin to do this very thing that significantly removed many of the inherent bugs/outlook conflicts.

The contacts folder's "owner" of the must set up the activities.
