The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Linking a document file with a mailmerge

This may be the completely wrong approach but here's what i'm trying to do.

I four documents "exp1-1.doc", "exp1-2.doc", "exp2-1.doc" and "exp2-2.doc" that i need merged into a new file (call it "master.doc" for now)  but done so randomly. More specifically, it should always be the case that exp2-1 or exp2-2 FOLLOWS exp1-1 or exp1-2.  So master.doc should look something like this:

1. contents of exp1-1
2. contents of exp2-1
3. contents of exp1-1
4. contents of exp2-2
5. contents of exp1-1
6. contents of exp2-1
7. etc...

(the numbers are just for reference purposes.  what should appear in master.doc is the content of each exp file)
So that it is randomly decided if exp1-1 or exp1-2 is selected in position 1,3,5, etc....and randomly decided if exp2-1 or exp2-2 is in position 2,4,6,etc...

I initially thought of doing something like a mail merge with an excel file that is just a running list of filenames.  I could use the rand() function to do the randomization.  My problem is that, at best i can get word to input the filename from excel, but not the CONTENTS of the file.

At this point i am totally stuck.  Please help.  And i am happy to give more clarification.
