When trying to open any word (excel or access) documents from the File menu and then Open, it gives no response. However the documents (files) open fine from Windows Explorer.
The Office Suite has been re-installed. Now I have uninstalled it again. Before I install it again, is there anything I can can do??
Any workable solutions would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

Hi perezm, technet/se curity/bul letin/ms06 - 015.mspx) that conflicted with many models of HP scanners, cameras and printers. These HP products rely on a software package called Share-to-web, which Microsoft's update conflicts with. Side-effects are severe, including program freezes, an inability to follow a link you type into Internet Explorer, inability to open or save files in Office applications, inability to click the + sign while browsing My Documents or My Pictures. http://support.microsoft.c om/?kbid=9 18165

Microsoft recently pushed a security update MS06-015 (908531) (http://www.microsoft.com/
The suggested fix is:
1) Log on to the computer with an account having administrator privileges
2) Launch Regedit from the Start...Run command line
3) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR
Right-click "Cached", point to New, click "DWORD Value", and then enter:
{A4DF5659-0801-4A60-9607-1
4) Set the Data of this value to 1
5) Close the Registry Editor
6) Reboot the computer
Or try the following shortcut:
1) Copy the following line to the clipboard (paste it into Notepad to remove line breaks if necessary)
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\W
2) Open the Start...Run menu item
3) Paste the instruction from step 1 into the resulting dialog box and hit return
