You can go to View/master-slide master
In the Slide Master View, Click insert new title master ( the second icon from the left)
Copy over your template from the original slide master and remove what you do not want.
Click close master view,
your first slide should have whatever you wanted removed,
the rest of the slides should be normal.

If you remove something from the master, it will change all the slides that have been created based on that master...
But if you want to make a slide include some, but not all of the things that are on the master you can do this:
Insert a new slide:
Format>Background>check the box that says "omit background objects from master"
Now, View the master slide and copy everything you want on that slide that will be different. Go back and view the slide and paste whatever elements you wanted to have on that one slide.
Let me know if you can get this to work the way you wanted.
