If outlook 2007 created NK2 files with another name (probably becuase it saw another NK2 already there that it didn't recognize), move all the files out of the default folder. Open outlook and let it create a clean file. Than close outlook and try again to copy your preferred file.
Microsoft also has a tool you can use to edit the nickname file. It's called the ingressor and you may be able to cut and paste all your entries.
Are you relying on the NK2 as an address book?

With 2000/XP, you'll find this file in C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook in the name of <profile name>.nk2 unless you've installed your OS onto a different drive. <profile name> is what you name your Outlook profile, the default name is "Outlook".
If you're running NT, try looking into C:\Winnt\Profiles\<usernam e>\Applica tion Data or C:\Winnt\Profiles\<usernam e>\Local Settings\Application Data e.g. I only have one profile and is just called Outlook so I will use Outlook.nk2 for AutoComplete
If you are performing a search for the .nk2 file and nothing turns out from the search, or not able to go into the directory and locate these files, please note that these are, by default, hidden files in Windows. You're blind folded from them until you decide that you're ready to handle them. To enable, just open up Windows Explorer, under Tools | Folder Options | the View tab and select "Show hidden files and folders". For me, I also like to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files".

Thanks, found this solution on a search in Google, signed in, and there it was! I gave you an 'Excellent' in all categories.
How can you avoid this change when customizing office 2007 with OCT, what setting would you need to add to MSP?
First-readers should know definition. "office 2007 with OCT" is referring to "Office Customization Tool"
MSP refers to the .msp data file that contains the customization information to be imported.
Now for my question back to you.....what 'Change' are you talking about avoiding?
This post was about a .NK2 file that was a 'memory' of the Email addresses that users typed into Outlook.
Can you go into more detail on what "THIS" you are wanting to avoid?

Would the location of the .NK2 file be the same on Windows 7 as it is on Vista?
