Copy/transfer settings from one to many M$ office 2007 installs like with "Backup Settings Wizard"

Office 2003 had a wonderful little utility to backup settings.  We would use this utility to copy settings from one workstation to another to assure everything is setup the same.  This utilty does not exist for Office 2007.  I am aware that Microsoft is now recommending to use USMT for this task but I would like to explore any other possible methods before using something that big.
Is backing up parts of the registry from a preconfigured computer (export) and restoring on another unconfigured computer (import) possible/recommended? Or are settings stored all over the place.

All machines are running Windows XP Pro SP2 in a domain and the version of office we are going to use is 2007 Professional.

Settings in Microsoft Word and Outlook need to be configured.  (system defaults for the rest are fine)

Thanks in advance for your input.

I have not seen any other way to do this other than the process you already mentioned.  I havent even found software to buy that would do this.

Xcon - you are bang-on.
Tested your solution and it is exactly what I hoped to exist.
I heard of the Application before but did not know it had such capability.  As an added bonus the program was able to clearly show me the paths and files of where the settings are stored including where in the registry some of it is.  (not something you would want to do manually though)
not an expensive product either - glad to say.
the full name of the product is " Acronis True Image 11 Home "

Much thanks for that insight - cudos!
Your welcome. Trust me I swear by that product numerous times a day.
