Opening documents from shortcuts or file incredibly slow.

Hi all, trust you are well.

I have a client, when trying to open documents either from email or my documents folders (.doc and .xls) can take up to twenty minutes to open the document. If i open word/excel first and go file open it tends to open instantly.

I have disabled antivirus - no difference. I have cleaned out temporary folders. I have also cleared out the infamous OLK store.

Running Windows XP SP2 plus all updates and Office 2003.

Any suggestions?
