The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Links no longer working after Upgrading to MS Office 2003...

Hello and thank you all in advanced for your help and comments on this issue

We are having a problem with automatically upgradeing the links from excel workbooks to a word document after upgrading to office 2003. The original files were created in office 2000 PRO.
The computer in question had a virgin install of office 2003 standard (installed with all features running from the computer and with SP3) instead of an upgrade.
The word document in question has 40 to 50 links from about 15 different excel workbooks and we are linking both graphs and data. The links were working fine in office 2000 but do not seem to be updating automatically (or at all..!!) in office 2003. I have checked most things that have been posted already and all looks fine. For example macro security, file permissions, calculation etc

if we delete the original excel 2000 link in the word document and replace it with a new link from the execl 2003 workbook then link works fine.

All the servers are in a domain and all the users are part of a workgroup..(if that helps..!!)

Unfortunately to link these documents again will take years...!!

I have tried to put in as much information as I can but if there is any other information you need to help with this matter please let me know.
