Template Problem - Network Location Moved!!! Documents Hanging...

Hi All,

This is something of a follow on question from the following already asked:

We have also moved our files to a new server, and removed the old server completely from the domain (its in the bin!), and are having problems when users open Word files from the new Server, the files are trying to locat the document template that is located on the old server. In Word 2007, you are able to press ESC and t opens the files ok, and then you can change the template location in the file without any problems. But with 2003, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this, so you have to let the file open (takes about three minutes) and then update the location in the Tools - Templates & Addins.

I have tried the VB script as per the above question, but have no skills at scripting and need some assistance...it doesn't seem to work when we update the locations etc...

Another alternative we are investigating would be whether to change the name of the new server to match the old server to stop this problem, as we literally have thousands of these files to change...

Please can anyone help!
