Hyperlinks changing when saving a document

I have a User who goes to insert a Hyperlink in for example word or powerpoint to a file on a shared drive.

The do everthign correct ... INSERT > HYPERLINK

When they click ok the hyperlink appears on the page and is reachable.

However when they click save the links destination changes from

eg \\Dbens021\crm_gpu\Meeting_Minutes\2008\Admin\Topics_GPU_CRM_Call.xls
to
../../../../crm_gpu/Meeting_Minutes/2008/Admin/Topics_GPU_CRM_Call.xls

for no reason.

Then when you click on the link you get the error :
The address of this site is not valid. Check address and try again.

Just as soon as they save the document.


Can someone please advise ?
