Ok, I have 30+ users and only one actually has the autosave of her files working even though all the machines are set to do so. I have all the machines set to save an auto recover copy every 2 minutes, some file locations are set to save to the C: drive others to a network drive. The one machine that is saving a .asd file has been so for sometime now as there are some dated from 2002.
My question is, why do I not see a .asd file in the auto save location after making changes and not saving. Also when does the .asd get deleted, I mean if the power goes out do you then loose the .asd or .tmp files? (which I can't seem to get)
Please don't tell me the locations other posts on EE have described, I have searched ALL areas that these files should be going or could and they are not. After 2 hours of not saving the file but having changes made there still is no .asd file anywhere (I am the admin so I can see every file type, hidden, OS etc...)
Just hoping to get a URL to a weblink that can describe a % of data that maybe needs to be changed before the autosave kicks in or a reason why it wouldn't when it is set to do so at a short interval even. Also any info on what types of recover situations this feature is good for, seems to me like it is a very useless feature being that it doesn't do anything when set to. ;)-
OS Types: Vista and XP all the latest updates
Office Version: 2003 with SP3, and 2007 all updates
Thanks for any help or info in advance....I am going crazy!
