Excel file growing from around 180 K to 51 MB when saving

Asked by PACCAST-DEV in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Software

One of the engineers at my company has and Excel file of size around 180 K. It has around 10 charts on it. When he saves it it goes to 51 MB. If we remove the charts from the file it goes back down to 180 K

His machine crashes because of the large file size, ( though my newer one can handle it).
any suggestions?
