We have over 600 computers in a Windows 2003 domain environment. Most of the computers are Windows XP with a few Vista and 2000 machines. Over the past 2 to 3 years multiple machines have had Microsoft Office 2003 Pro installed and then uninstalled. Our Asset Management software is detecting that Microsoft Office 2003 Pro is still installed on all those machines. Most of the machines now have Microsoft Viewers or Open Office. It's my understanding that the Asset Management software scans the registry for installed software. I've looked and there are traces of Office 2003 in the registry. What is the best way to remove these traces. I'm guessing I can't run a script using the domain or GPO's because that would remove these registry entries on machines that still have Office 2003 or have Office Viewers. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best and quickest way to remove all traces of Office 2003 off of these machines.
