Office 2007 hangs on opening

I am using office 2007 for some reason word has started to hang when when opened up, if I open an already created word document by clicking on it it also hangs. After about 5 minutes the document eventually opens however it hangs again on closing the document.

This does not happen with excel, powerpoint or outlook, there was a support person on the machine from a software company who may have made some changes to word as I believe word integrates with their product, how can I restore word to its default settings? I have tried a repair and a remove reboot and reinstall of officeStart Free Trial
