Copy and paste in word or excel

A really weird thing started happening about two weeks ago with one of my users.  When she tries to copy and paste something into word paste is greyed out.  If she copies the item, say from notepad, before word is open it doesn't work.  If she opens word first, copies the item she wants to paste into word, then paste it it works great.  For some reason the program she wants to paste INTO has to be open before she does the copy.  Has anyone seen this behavior before?  We recently installed office 2007 for her and everything worked great with the new version, but all the sudden it doesn't work.  Thanks everyone.  Start Free Trial
