Word and Excel takes a long time to open file
For some reason my Word and Excel takes about 2 minutes to open a file when I double click it but it opens straight away if I open it from with Word or Excel, file open.
It doesn't matter if its on my local drive or a network drive. It wasn't always like this its only started like this about a week ago.

Check the space in C drive if free space is less then 25% of total c drive space, try to delete or move files to some other drive to make 50% free space. Run Disk Defragmentation, Disk cleanup to remove unwanted files, delete temproary files. Finally run Chkdsk /f command from command prompt, it will ask you to run after restart. Restart the system Chkdsk will check for bad sectors and repair. Then try to open saved word files. Good Luck!
