yeah been down that road already.. sorry should have included that in my original post. I also took some of the offending DLLs and copied to C:\Windows\System32 but that doesn't help either...

Canon Network Scangear Error
Can no longer scan from my copier, scangear throws the error:
necessary file is corrupted, not found or settings incorrect. Reinstall the scanner driver. Scanner driver will be quitted.
In Acrobat it says that application failed to start because NSIOPM.dll was not found. Reinstalling may fix...
NSIOPM.DLL is in the program files\Canon\Network Scangear directory. If I try to register it I get the error "loaded but DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. File cannot be registered

Add the path to where Network Scangear is installed (generally %programfiles%\Canon\Netwo
Do this by right clicking My Computer, Properties, Advanced System Settings, Environment Variables. In the System Variables, edit the "PATH" variable, append the abovementioned location to the path.
I was having the same issue on a Windows 7 64 bit system. I reinstalled the software on top and still had the error. I then added the path mentioned above, then reinstalled the software a third time and and the error is gone.
