Thanks sublifer,
But I get teh same result no matter how I try to install the patch. It's as if the file has been moved or removed.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsYes, Office 2000 is old and we have to upgrade (we plan to upgrade to Office 2010 later this year and we have some Office 2007 machines out there), but does anyone know if Microsoft has been pulling its updates for Office 2000 such as SR-1a from its site? I'm trying to install Office 2000 SR-1a on a computer and it appears that the link to SR-1a is still there, but the file is missing. I get the following error:
Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Update
Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Update did not complete successfully. For assistance, contact Microsoft Technical Support.
See the log file: Office 2000 SR-1 Setup(0001).txt
The log file contents are in the code section below. Note the error toward the end "Error: The Office 2000 SR-1 Core Update patch is missing or invalid."
I know I'm beyond support:
http://support.microsoft.c
The Office 2000 extended support period will last from July 1, 2004 through July 14, 2009.
Did they delete the patch from public view? Are there any other reliable sources for the patch(es)?

If you're using windows update, then you may want to try to download the file yourself manually. ownloads/d etails.asp x? FamilyID =af6c8d03- 7633-45b4- ab96-795ee 656f2a2&di splaylang= en

And no, they don't remove updates from their site.
Try the update installer here:
