Is the PST file stored locally?
If you are unsure about the PST you can check its integrity by using scanpst.exe:

Outlook too slow to load folder
After installing the oct 2009 security updates for office 2003. outlook is slow to view the mail from pst folder. outlook showing popup window with this message
"Outlook is preparing the requested view"
I have installed this updates from microsoft sites

My configuration: windows XP with SP3, IE7 & office 2003 with SP3

Yes, seems to be related to last weeks October 2009 Microsoft Security Updates and patches, notably KB973705. Outlook versions 2003 & 2007 both impacted.
As of yet no response or fix from MS. Similiar discussions occuring in the MS Community forum Outlook General Questions.
If anybody has any updated info on this topic, please let us know, it's a problem.
