Private print password is assigned at the Print driver level... so it really shouldn't have anything to do with the excel file. Opening the Excel file doesn't require a password...

Browse All TopicsI have a excel that was created by a user that no longer works for the company... It is a confidental file so I use private print functions.... If I send this file to print private and I assign a password to it... when i want it to print it is looking for the password of the original user or it just doesn't except mine and others passwords of users that have worked on the file.. I can print the file normally without any issues. Currently the file is being opened in Office 2007.. I am not 100% sure if the file was created with Office 2007 or 2003...

I dont think that you can really do anything but find the password of the other user.
Probably, you can create a copy of the file and save it using your password, copying the private print functions in your global/personal XLS VBA project.
