That unit is built by Newton Power who builds very high quality supplies.
Heat probably killed it. The heat drys out the electrolyte in electrolytic caps and then they fail.
Odds are 80-90% it could be repaired with a hand full of the right kind of capacitors.
The correct Dell PN is PD144 but that number covers both a 500 watt and a 650 watt.
You didn't specify which one you need.
Not hard to find with the Dell PN. - Just make sure it's the right watts.
