We run Exchange 2010 SP1. When a user send a mail with XML attachements, it gets delivered to our Outlook client, but it gets blocked on OWA.<br />
<br />
In EMC I go to Organization Configuration and select Client access, then Outlook Web App Mailbox Policies. There we have a Default policy that is enabled. I open this, and go to Public Computer File Access, and then Direct File Access. I made sure Enable direct file access is ticket off. And then go to customize. There I have removed xml from the Block list, and then added it to the Allow list. I also added it til the list of MIME types as application/cml and text/xml.<br />

So why are XML files blocked on OWA when we receive the files on Outlook clients running on a computer??<br />

We need to receive XML on OWA since many users only use OWA.<br />
