convert textbox to text in word 2003

I am scanning & importing documents into word 2003.  Much of the text being imported is winding up in text boxes.  I would like to remove the text boxes & use the unadulterated text in the document

I believe this could be as simple as Ctrl+A to select all. Cut. Edit-Paste special, unformatted text.

However, there's no guarantee where the textbox text will *drop* into your text.
It might be pretty painless.

Thanks for your comment.  However, your solution works with text that is not in the text boxes.  A Ctrl+A or "Select All" does not select the Text Boxes or the text inside the Text Box.
