Hi KevinGen,
PeteLong is correct. Word 2003 has the ability to open files created in Works 3.0, 4.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 2000. There is a Files of type dropdown in the File...Open menu item that gives you access to the file converters.
If you still have Works installed on a computer, then you can find out its version by launching it and using the Help...About Microsoft Works menu item.
Cheers!
Brad

But to be honest Word 2000 SR1 will open them? go to File >open
change the "OF type" drop down box to "Works V4.00 .wps" and you can open them :)
