I need some serious help!! I am going to attempt to be as specific as I can, so please forgive me if I go into too much detail.
Due to a co-workers car accident today, I have inherited a large project with a deadline that is 10 days away. There is no time to recruit and train others to assist me, and I am the only one in our organization that has the expertise for this task. What I need to do is quickly create multiple reports that have bits of data (both text and numbers) that go into specific insertion points within boilerplate text. I have spent all evening researching various ideas, including form feilds, auto-text, etc. I think that this would be far too time consuming to get up and going (for me at least).
I need to insert numeric and text values that will vary from paragraph to paragraph and in some cases sentance to sentance.
I am rating 4-5 procedures on a scale of 1-10 on a daily basis, and also using a text rating scheme to rate changes in within 3,4, or 5 seperate systems in seperate paragraphs of boilerplate text on the same day. The Template has 4 or 5 paragraphs for each evaluation period and multiple dates of evaluation are contained within the Template.
It would be ideal if a macro could be used to start at a numeric rating scale (ie. 1 to 10 scale) and a text scale, (ie decreased, diminished, increased, etc.) and imput the values in the appropriate area of the text for each indiviual rating category based on a % change from begining date to ending date. The inital value would be input and the macro would assign random changing values (not <2 from inital value and not > 5 from the initial value). I have no idea if you can assign this format to the Text rating scales, but if it could move +/- 1 or 2 from the initial text rating (at random) for each date in between the 1st and last dates, it would be perfect. The only values that are really of concern is that the beginning and ending values represent a manually entered percent change up or down in each procedure evaluated.
Lastly, I need a table that can preform basic percent change in values and represent them graphically. From my reading tonite I believe I can figure this one out, but any guidance would be appreciated.
I hope all that made at least some sence.
The main concern is to get these things in word so that editing can begin taking place to change inaccuracies and add some customization.
