Hi Fellow Experts,
I am searching for information on how to extend the available table format/gallery list in Word 2000. I have some table formatting that users need to select easily without going through the steps needed to manually format the table (speed of opening/printing, file size may become an issue soon too). I have looked at the Office Developer Center, MSDN, Office Resource Kit, Code Samples etc but I can't seem to find the info.
If you have links to documentation that explains what to do I would be grateful. Thanks in advance for any time spend on this question.

Hmmm, that is somewhat awkward as Macro's pose a serious penalty when documents get outside the company. We will have to migrate to Office XP in an accelerated timeframe then. I hoped Word 2000 had some method of extending the table formats.
I'll wait some more time to see what other info comes up if you don't mind Graham?

Hi,
I am talking about the security issues here. Allot of companies block office documents with macros in them, signed or unsigned. And since the documents travel allot by E-mail that is not really what we want to do. Doing the format in code isn't that much of a problem; I am a VB developer and have done my share of Office Automation (I'll post the code here for you guys to see what I have done).
I have seen documentation/code samples for Office XP that allows you to create table-type style sheets. This would solve the problem with the formatting. We are hopefully going to migrate to Office XP this year. Thanks for the information.

I don't think that there is a facility for extending it. I think you'd need a macro to do a parallel job, though it would be a bit more than trivial, especially if you needed several extra styles to choose from.
