Another option might be to use Excel and make your letters Wordart. You can specify the height you need and it's easy to up the letters across page boundaries so that they will line up and run over other pages.

Browse All TopicsI want to create a letter set for making banners, and want to print out templates for letters (upper case) that are 15 inches high.
My printer can handle only 8.5 x 11. So I can print stuff with 700-point type, and get letters printed that are 7.5" high.
Is there a way to print letters at, let's say, 1500 point type, and have each letter be split between 2 or more physical sheets on the printer?
Of course, I can take my 7.5" letters to a copy shop and have them enlarged, but I'd like to do it myself. I'm willing to cut and paste the physical parts of the letters.
Thanks for any help

To Eric,
Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't own Adobe Illustrator and I've tried every which way to tinker with PDF and larger types, with no luck.
To dopyiii,
Bingo! Using WordArt in Excel gives me exactly what I want. It's easy to re-size the text to exactly what I want, and I can use exactly the fonts that I want. Physically cutting the sheets and pasting them together is relatively easy.
Thanks a bunch.

Word probably isn't the best program to use for this. Other programs have the ability to do exactly what you want: for example, Adobe Illustrator lets you scale the print area and print the result in tiles. However, if you create a very large page -- at least 15" high in your case -- you could create a PDF and use Acrobat's ability to tile to print. The tiling capability may be a function of your printer drivers though, so try printing directly from Word first.
