The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Word 2003 - A page break appears in the middle of the table of Contents for no reason

Hi EE

I have a problem with a page break appearing (without been asked to do so) in the middle of my table of contents in a Word 2003 document.

When I create the table of contents for the document, a page break (invisible to the naked eye and even invisible to the formatting button) appears under one of my Level one Headings within the table of contents

This particular Level 1 heading (after which the page break appears) has many associated Level 2 headings, however there is plenty of room on the page to place the Level 2 headings, but even so, Word is forcing an invisible page break.  Note this does not appear to be a format setting for the TOC headings as other Level One Headings within the Table of Contents do not have this issue.

By way of demonstration

Level 1 Heading
 Heading 1,1
 Heading 1.2

Level 2 Heading
 Heading 2,1
 Heading 2.2

Level 3 Heading
<<invisible page break>>

 Heading 3,1
 Heading 3.2
 Heading 3.3
 Heading 3.4

Level 4 Heading
 Heading 4,1
 Heading 4.2

Can you assist please?  There is no reason why I would want a page break in the middle of the Table of Contents and I cant seem to find a reason why it would appear

cheers
