Thanx mero,
We've had this problem since we got 2007 last year, but nobody else seemed to know about it. Glad that it's not just us.

We've run into a problem with the way Word2007 treats startup folders. We have departmentwide startup folders, for macros, autotext, styles, etc. Everything worked fine in Word2003. With Word2007, things still work ok as long as the templates are .dot's. If we try to use a .dotm, we have to sent the folder access permissions to ReadOnly, otherwise the second user to open word gets an error message stating that
xxxxx.dotm is locked for editing by Joe Blow.
Do you want to:
Open a Read Only Copy
Create a Local Copy and merge later
Receive notificationwhen original copy is availible
We don't want to bother our users with this message every time they open word, but we don't want to have to set the permissions to read only either.
Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do?
Thanx!
