Supporting a team of 3 users who are collaborating on a (currently 108 page) word document.
All 3 users have Office2003, with one having updated to SP3.
Number bullet points have been applied to each paragraph.
When the user running SP3 opens the document all other formatting is present, e.g. layout, bookmarks, bullets etc. but the bullets by the paragraphs have disappeared.
If the user on SP3 saves the document, the paragraph bullets are removed for all users.
I've taken a copy of the document and opened it with office2000 & office2003 (no service pack). The bullets and numbering is as intended. Office2003 SP3 the bullets disappear!! Copy and paste between versions...the numbering disappears.
I've checked the ticks within tools/options and format/bullet and numbering. I've checked the style isn't auto updating. I've turned off auto correction but now I've run out of ideas. Other then removing and reinstalling office2003.
However when the document is circulated for comment (hense the bullet numbers are reference points), i'll have no control over the office version being used. Therefore i really need the document formatting to be preserved for all versions of office.
Does anyone know how to preserve the formatting?
Has anyone seen anything similar...what is SP3 doing??
