I was thinking more along the lines of restricting the data going in to the data source may be so that it only pulled up one record. Can the data source be set to be a stored procedure or a access query?

Browse All TopicsIs there a way of forcing a word mail merge document to only display a specific record from a data source without any complex programming please? My current data source is very large, and it struggles/takes a long time to find the specific record in the csv data source file. Wondered whether there was a way of restricting the data source may be to be only the record I want to merge in.

In the Mail Merge task pane to the right of your screen, select the "Edit Recipients" option and you can then just select the one record you want.
