Word 2002 macro issue

I have a client who has Word 2002 document with macros in it. Currently using Word 2002, if I open the file and select disable macros it opens fine. When I go to close that document I receive an error. " Unknow error returned from application. Error caught at (file connect.cpp, line 752), operation canceled.

Does anyone know why this would occur only when I have disable macros and only when I close the Word document?
