The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Some text don't print in Word

Hi! I have a strange problem with Word 2003 and our HP laser printers (for example the Laserjet 2430 dtn and the LaserJet P3005 ).

To explain the problem clearly, I'll give an example of a test I've done : In a blank document, I typed one paragraph of Lorem Ipsum text. I've copied it and pasted it 2 times to have a total of 3 paragraphs. I've put the second paragraph in italic and the third one in bold. The first one has no formating. All text is in Arial 8 point black. When I print the document, the italic paragraph wasn't print, like if I've set the color of the text to blank. I have a paragraph, a blank space and the third paragraph.

I've tested the same thing with 10 and 12 point of font size. There's no change : all the text in Arial Italic just don't print. The same situation happens also with the Times New Roman font.

With the fonts Comic Sans MS, Verdana, Courier New, it's all the text that don't print, no matter if the text is in bold, in italic or just normal.

If I print the documents in a pdf file and after print it to the HP printer, all works fine. I've already checked the printing options, checked the lastest the drivers versions (I was on the lastest versions before the problem happened, and I'm on PCL 6), checked if the document is in draft mode, tested the option "print true type as graphics" and nothing helped.

Do you have some suggestions to help me?
